SURPRISE!!!

How many of you have asked what I've been up to lately? How many times have I had to answer with a vague "writing"? Well, it's true, I have been writing. A lot. So much the line between this world and the fictional one is starting to blur. But here's the really great thing about burrowing in and sacrificing sleep and a social schedule . . . I get to drop a surprise release on you all!!!

Yep, a surprise release. Not a cover reveal or an announcement about a forthcoming novel or a measly little teaser, but a full-sized novel ready for your reading pleasure. Today. Like now. Right now.

Why did I decide to do this? For a bunch of reasons, but mainly because I hate waiting for a new book to come out from one of my favorite authors, and would flip if one of them decided to drop a surprise release on the world. So really, it was all of you and your finger drumming I had in mind. ;) Plus Julie, my awesome PR gal from AToMR promotions, suggested it and I'm kind of one of those sick and twisted people who like surprises—both giving and receiving them.

Okay, so enough about that. Let's get to the stuff that really matters. The book . . .

CROSSING STARS is an adult/new adult contemporary romance that puts a modern spin on a classic tale. It's about star-crossed lovers and their battle with fate and family. It's about deciding just how much a person will sacrifice to live the life they want, instead of accepting the one they have.

I've listed the blurb, as well as the links to the book below. I hope you all enjoy it and thank you for your patience these last few months while I've been stuffed in my writing cave. Love you all.

While the city of Chicago sleeps, a war wages in the streets between two powerful families. While the public assumes organized crime is nothing more than a chapter torn out of America’s history, the Costa and Moran families battle for territory and domination.

Caught up in the middle of this sinister world is Josette, the only child of Salvatore Costa, the ringleader and notorious godfather of Chicago’s Italian mafia. After the Irish Morans attempted to assassinate her when she was a child, Josette’s parents hid her behind the walls of their sprawling estate and kept her contact with outsiders to a minimum. But now Josette’s eighteen, and she’s questioning if a long life behind walls is worth trading for a potentially short one filled with excitement and adventure and all the things she’s only lived in her dreams.

On the night she decides to risk becoming just an anonymous face in the crowd, Josette realizes that death isn’t only a possibility—it’s a certainty. Yet when a young man comes to her rescue, the turbulent waters between life and death are further muddied.

Rylan is everything Josette isn’t . . . and she’s everything he isn’t. She’s sheltered; he’s worldly. She’s thoughtful; he’s hot-headed. She’s sweet; he’s rough around the edges. She’s harmless; he’s dangerous.

Despite all of their differences, one overshadows them all. One difference means they can never be together unless they’re ready to accept being hunted by the entire crime world for as long as they live.

She's a Costa. And he's a Moran.
